Intro

Today there are almost 20 billion devices connected to the internet. And there are many more smart devices that aren't even what we call "online". Unfortunately not all of these devices are properly secured, or able to talk to each other. This is where we come in.

When connecting devices, it's not just a matter of "making it work". Tn issue with connectivity can have serious consequences, maybe just financial but also related to safety. Communication needs to be secure, reliable, and easily repairable if it fails. Energ-IT has experience in amongst others the chemical industry where the impact of an outage is huge, and the highest safety standards are implemented.

Work

Some references:

Caloritum/Qpinch. A scale-up in chemical waste heat recuperation. Responsible for system architecture of the automation systems based on Siemens PCS7 (and Tia Portal). Designed the hardware, the network configuration and did the initial programming of two of the installations. Set up a reporting dashboard with automatic notification in case parameters go out of spec.

Voltelli. A startup focused on controlling cooling installations, based on electricity pricing. Designed the hardware and interface for a prototype to control a large industrial freezer. Again, security and reliability are key.

About

Kelly De Koninck has over 25 years of experience in telecommunications and IT security. 10 years ago Energ-IT was founded, mainly to support a customer in renewable chemical energy with IT and process automation knowledge. Through the years some other projects popped up, usually through word of mouth, and this resulted in a lot of experience with all kinds of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, ProfiNet, OPC UA, MQTT etc. This makes Energ-IT the perfect partner for connectivity needs, for instance prototypes, smart energy control or dashboarding.
